Mission

To support Jewish faculty and staff at the university. We support equity and inclusion of the Jewish community at DePaul.

The group aims to foster community, be an advocate for the needs of Jewish individuals, and mentor students and learners.

About Us

A few months later, we were confronted with the longest encampment in the Midwest, where we had to become a support network for those feeling under attack, an advocate for students, faculty, and staff fighting antisemitism, and a liaison with our administration on working with and protecting our Jewish community.

DePaul’s JFSA was born in October 2023 after the 10.7 attack when many faculty and staff were feeling isolated. We initially formed to create community and a sense of solidarity.

As a group, we build community by supporting faculty, staff, and students and through working with The Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity and the Division of Ministry & Mission.

We have developed an antisemitism training and distributed Hebrew DePaul University t-shirts and ugly Chanukah sweaters. Regularly, we host dialogue sessions, communicate with members about campus and city happenings, and address our concerns to the administration, mentor students, and partner with allies.
